GOLDSBORO, NC (WTVD) — Goldsboro police are investigating after a 7-year-old child was accidentally shot and killed Sunday morning.

The shooting happened around 12 noon in Fairview Circle. Upon arrival, the police found a 7-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the torso. Officers say the 8-year-old’s relative accidentally shot the 7-year-old.

The 7-year-old was taken to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville for treatment.

At the moment, there is no more detailed information.
