RIGHT NOW, EDEN POLICE ARE SAYING THERE WAS A FIRE AT THE FORMER COTTON FACTORY IN SPRAY last night around 10:45. I WANT TO TAKE YOU LIVE THERE TO THE PLACE OF THE HOLE. OFFICIALS SAY THEY ARRIVED ON THE SCENE AND FOUND A PORTION OF THIS BUILDING FULLY ENGAGED IN FIRE. YOU CAN SEE THIS FIRE IS STILL ACTIVE AT 430 THIS MORNING. WE HAVE A LARGE LAW ENFORCEMENT PRESENCE AT THIS HOUR. Firefighters are working to determine the cause of a fire at a former cotton gin building in Eden. The fire started on Wednesday around 10:45 p.m. The building is in the 400 block of Church Street. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the lower building, near the Smith River, completely engulfed. Twenty-three agencies assisted the Eden Fire Department in extinguishing the fire.
