RALEIGH, NC — A Raleigh police officer was nearly hit by a car while helping a broken-down vehicle Friday night.
The incident happened shortly after 11 p.m
Authorities say the officer was on Hammond Road near Rush Street assisting a driver when another vehicle rear-ended the officer’s police car.
The officer was able to dodge in time, but was injured and taken to the hospital.
The cause of the disaster is being investigated.
