STATESVILLE, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An 18-year-old is accused of pulling out a gun and firing several shots during an armed robbery at a Statesville home last month, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the man told deputies on Dec. 31, 2022, that he had been robbed at gunpoint in his home the day before.

The victim allegedly identified the suspect as 18-year-old Daniel Scott Miller Jr., who detectives say the victim tried to sell guns to through an arrangement they made online.

Detectives said Miller drove up to the victim’s home on Fonda Road, parked at the end of the driveway and walked down the driveway to meet the victim.

That’s when Miller took the victim’s firearm, pulled out another gun and pointed it at them, authorities said.

He was then accused of returning to his car, shooting the victim.

The man was not injured by the gunfire, but deputies said the home was fired upon several times while its occupants were inside.

Law enforcement soon found Miller and arrested him. He was charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, one count of felony assault on occupied property, one count of conspiracy and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

He was released on a $500,000 bond.
