Jermaine Osborne-Edwards v. Alexander Fonza
Venue Hangar, Wolverhampton, England – February 18, 2022
Wolverhampton Jermaine Osborne-Edwards dedicated his last victory to his grandmother, who died earlier this week.
The 32-year-old heavyweight has continued his excellent form since moving into the professional ranks when on Friday night he recorded his third straight victory at The Hangar Events, Wolverhampton.
Earlier this week, Osborne-Edwards’ beloved nanny died, and the handsome boxer from Wolverhampton admitted that as a result he almost dropped out of the headliner.
He managed to direct his forces to fight on, and in front of his guerrilla crowd King Kundalini boxed well to record a victory over Newark’s 40-36 Fonz Alexander.
Osborne-Edwards’ popularity continues to grow; as well as his boxing skills.
It was a patient and controlled performance against Alexander in an evening full of adrenaline and emotion.
Cannock in the middleweight division Oli Cooper also moved to 3-0 with a restrained performance against Manchester Josh Cook.
Tall and heavy in weight, Cooper took his time and caught a cold with a series of hard hooks that seemed to cause trouble for his opponent in the starting lineup. Merit Cook, although he bit off his rubber band and as Cooper realized that Cook was there all the time, began to choose his shots and eased to a 40-37 victory.
Telford in a light weight Bradley Thompson stepped into the unknown against Jack Dwyer.
Dwyer with a single loss in his single-fight record absolutely won and stood before Thompson for all four rounds.
Thompson’s superb set of throws and leg work kept Liverpool’s game in awe, but it was another test for the highly publicized Telford fighter. Eventually the class flashed: Thompson recorded a 40-36 victory and moved on to 3-0.
Once you get better Kieran Thomas back in November, Andy Owen was in it again.
The excellent physical training of the Staffordshire in the super-middleweight demonstrated against his opponent from Walsall, who, as usual, was just as playful.
However, Owen had much more, and this allowed him to dictate the pace and keep Thomas on his hind legs to record 40-36 victories over his now familiar enemy.
Darlaston Vicki Wilkinson moved to 2-0, beating an experienced polka, Boyana Libishevskaya.
The light pair stood and traded all eight minutes, and Wilkinson can be pleased with his speed and endurance against the interesting tough Libishevskaya.
On his professional bow Esingan Ryan ‘Rampage’ Cotterell did an easy job Dave Preston.
The star amateur introduced himself to the professional ranks, showing his heavy hands.
Landing bomb after bomb, perfectly timed from top to right, right on the first round bell sent Preston stretched out on the canvas. Unable to recover, Dudley’s man saw that his night was over. Impressive with Cotterell.
The action was completed by a real barn.
Birmingham lighter weight Matthew “Swigs” Craddock moved to 5-1 when Lancashire put up Stevie “Livewire” Maguire to the ball after the absorbing competition, which subsided and floated.
Craddock put Maguire in second and looked as if he was in control before he sat down in the third.
But it should be noted that Svigi, he bit off his rubber band and saw that the six was rounded to the finish 58-55.
