CHAPEL HILL, NC — On Sunday morning, the Center for Missing Persons issued an alert for 78-year-old Lydia Terri Upchurch, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
Upchurch was safely located Sunday night around 6 p.m
The Chapel Hill Police Department is asking for help locating Upchurch, who was last seen around 6:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of 220 Scarlett Dr.
Investigators were concerned about Upchurch’s welfare. She has not been heard from since she went for a walk on Sunday morning.
Upchurch was believed to be heading north on foot. Search teams were at the location where she was last seen.
Upchurch is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds, and has gray hair. Upchurch was last seen wearing a black down jacket, light brown pants, a black headband, shoes or boots and may have been carrying a pair of boots.
