RALEIGH, NC — Emergency crews worked on extinguishing the fire in the house on Monday night.
Crews responded to the fire at 1520 Pagan Road.
Smoke was visible at least a mile from the house.
A firefighter from the Garner Fire Department was injured while fighting the blaze.
Chief Garner told WRAL News that a partial collapse of the interior ceiling resulted in the firefighter’s injuries.
The firefighter was taken to WakeMed for evaluation, but WRAL News was told they appear to be doing well.
It is unclear how the fire started.
