COLUMBIA, SC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — SLED officials accused Great Falls Police Chief Jeremy Vinsonan of misconduct in office Friday.

South Carolina law enforcement officials say a 45-year-old Lancaster man was not performing his duties as a supervisor after the department’s December 2021 crash.

The arrest warrant said the chief negotiated with the parties and settled the case in city court without proper authority. SLED said Vinson failed to notify both parties. The result of the lawsuit was the dismissal of the case.

According to the warrant, Vinson later made false statements to SLED and changed reports to show he had tried to contact the victims before the case was closed.
