A man is dead, a woman is injured after a house fire in eastern Wake County. The cause of the fire has not been established.

A deadly house fire in Raleigh has claimed the life of one man and injured a woman, according to multiple media reports.

Fire crews just after 5 p.m. Monday were dispatched to the 5300 block of Castlebrook Drivereported ABC11, a media partner of The News & Observer.

The area is close to Hedingham Community Park.

Crews were still trying to put out the fire as of 10 p.m., ABC11 reported.

The injured woman was taken to WakeMed, the report said. A dog in the house was also rescued.

The man and woman have not been named, and ABC11 reports that the victims had two sons.

The Raleigh Fire Department and the Wake-New Hope Fire Department, located in Wendell, responded to the fire, the paper reported.

The fire destroyed several cars, as well as the garage and the back of the house.

The Wake County Fire Marshal’s and Sheriff’s Offices continue to investigate the fire.
