The season ended earlier than expected for Carolina Panthers running back D’Onta Foreman.
Foreman was ejected from the Week 18 season finale against the Saints after he hit New Orleans quarterback Marcus Davenport early in the third quarter Sunday. Carolina was trailing 7-0 at the time Foreman was ejected.
Both players were flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and sent off. Davenport was the first to punch Foreman in the mask after the two tangled after Foreman tried to lunge.
Foreman, who entered Sunday 154 yards shy of 1,000, finished the game with 67 yards on 12 carries.
He finishes the season with 913 yards. By Week 6, he had just 37 yards. His tally for the 2022-2023 season is the ninth in Panthers franchise history.
