STATESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A teenager has been charged for bringing a backpack containing weapons and drugs onto school grounds, Statesville police said Saturday.

Statesville Police officers responded to Statesville High School Friday for an incident involving a weapon on campus, according to a police report.

The gun, which the teacher said was in the backpack, was found along with the marijuana. The backpack belonged to Justin Davidson, 18, of Statesville, and he was arrested and charged with multiple charges, including possession of a weapon on school grounds.

Davidson was being held in the Iredell County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
