AND WHEN YOU GO OUTSIDE TO CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR BY THE MOON OR JUST GO OUT FOR CONCLUSIONS, DO PEOPLE THINK WHAT ARE WE EXPECTING? OH IT’S RAINING. HAPPY NEW YEAR. YOU WILL TEACH ME HOW TO SAY IT. ME TOO. AFRAID TO TRY NOW BECAUSE I KNOW I’VE GOT IT AND I LOVE IT. SO SAY WE APPRECIATE WHY WE SING FOR YOU IN YOUR NEW YEAR, FILLED WITH PROSPERITY, GOOD HEALTH, JOY AND HAPPINESS. THANK YOU. WELL WE ARE HOPING TO GET SOME SUN AND MAYBE START THE WEEK. IT WAS A DRY DAY AND A COLD, RAINY DAY AND FOR SOME, A LITTLE ICE AND SOME MOUNTAIN CITY. I CAN SEE OUT AND IT’S BEEN PRETTY DARK ALL DAY. AND THE WET EVENING WILL CONTINUE IN THE EVENING AS A SECOND BLOOD OF DAMP MOUNTAINS HITS US. OUR TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE THIRTY AND CLOSE TO 40 DEGREES RIGHT NOW. SO 40 AND ASHEBORO AND ALSO MAXVILLE. WE CAME UP JUST A LITTLE BIT AS IT WAS IN THE COUNTRY TODAY, QUIET, BUT IT’S AGAIN. WE ARE ABOVE FREEZING IN THE MOUNTAINS. WE HAVE 36 AND SPADA AND 36 AND GALAX. IT HAS AN IMPACT ON THE WEATHER FOR YOU EVENING AS WE ARE EXPECTING MORE RAIN, MAYBE A QUARTER TO A HALF MORE WET OVERNIGHT ROADS MAY ALSO BE WET IN THE MORNING AND IT MAY EVEN BE SLIPPERY IN THE MOUNTAINS AS THERE WAS SNOW. IT WILL GO AFTER MIDNIGHT INTO THE DAY AND MAY EVEN EXTEND INTO TOMORROW. AND THAT’S WHY WE HAVE WINTER WEATHER INFORMATION FOR THE BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS. THIS INCLUDES GRAYSON COUNTY. WE’RE NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT POSSIBLY A LITTLE SNOW, BUT ALSO STRONG WINDS GUSTING 40 TO 50 MPH. THIS TYPE OF WIND CAN DOWN TREES AND POWER LINES. IT’S RAINING NOW AND IT’S LIGHT MOSTLY, BUT IT’S STARTING TO PICK UP THIS BIG SHIELD OF RAIN. THIS WILL ADD TO WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN. AT THE TIME, PTI AIRPORT RECEIVED ONLY ABOUT 4/10 JUL OF RAINFALL, ABOVE THE MONTHLY NORMAL. YOU CAN SEE SOME OTHER RAIN TOTALS FOR THE LAST 24 HOURS. EVERYTHING IS CLOSER TO A QUARTER JULE THE FURTHER NORTH AND WEST YOU GO. AND THEN SOME MORE HIGHER AMOUNTS DOWN OVER THE HEART OF THE TRIAD AND REALLY THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL OF THE LAST 24 HOURS, AN INCH AND MORE WAS RIGHT WHERE WE NEEDED IT. AND THIS IS OVER THE EASTERN PARTS OF NORTH CAROLINA AND ALSO SOUTH CAROLINA. WE’VE GOT AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE JUST TO THE SOUTH AND THAT WILL BRING THE FOLLOWING RAIN TO START, SO BY EIGHT OR 9:00 MOST PEOPLE WILL BE COVERED WITH TONIGHT’S WET MOUNTAINS INTO THE MORNING. IT WILL BEGIN TO DECREASE TOMORROW BEFORE THE HOLIDAY. WE COULD HAVE A PROLONGED TRANSITION TO SNOW, ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHS AND WESTERN SLOPES. SO WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR SOME EASY ACCUMULATIONS. DON’T EXPECT MUCH SUN TOMORROW. I THINK WE WILL SEE SOME TIME BETWEEN MIDNIGHT. TOMORROW MORNING WE’LL GET MAYBE ANOTHER QUARTER OF A DAY OF RAIN. WE HAVE TEMPERATURES CLOSE TO 40 DEGREES IN THE TRIAD, CLOSER TO FREEZING WITH SNOW FALLS, POSSIBLE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, IT’S REALLY WINDY. AND THIS WILL BE A WEATHER STORY. NORTHWEST WIND 10 TO 25 MPH WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE INTO THE UPPER 40 TOMORROW SO IT WILL FEEL LIKE SMOKING FOR MOST OF THE DAY. THAT’S WHY YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO PAY FOR A PRE-BURN. WINDS TOO. NORTHWEST WIND 15 TO 30 MPH WITH A LITTLE FOG POSSIBLE. TOMORROW MORNING WE WILL HAVE HIGH TEMPERATURES UP TO THE FORties WITH BARELY GETTING ABOVE FREEZING IN THE MOUNTAINS. WE HAVE SUCH A CHANCE FOR SOME SNOW. THESE GUSTS ARE GOING TO BE REALLY STRONG. AS FOR MEASUREABLE AMOUNTS OF SNOW, VERY LITTLE AMOUNTS EAST OF THESE HIGH ELEVATIONS AND WESTERN SLOPES. SO YOU MIGHT GET A COUPLE OF JOBS IN PLACES LIKE BOONE LATER THIS WEEK. WEDNESDAY RAIN FOR OUR MOUNTAIN TOWNS, MAYBE FREEZING OR LIGHT. WE ARE GOING TO KEEP OUR TEMPERATURES VERY CLOSE TO NORMAL F
