MORRISVILLE, NC — A driver survived Monday after losing control of his SUV and crashing into Crabtree Lake.
A portion of Aviation Parkway was closed for most of the day Monday because of the crash.
Officers with the Cary Police Department said the driver was Joshua Delaneyof Fayetteville, hit a guardrail, went over an embankment and then hit a power pole before landing in Crabtree Lake.
He was not injured and got out of the car on his own.
The accident is under investigation.
Sky 5 flew over the scene at 11am when the SUV was seen. The vehicle was not submerged, but its rear wheels were in the water.
A fire truck and several police cars were on the scene, with officers directing traffic. At least one lane of Aviation Parkway was closed and there were delays in the area.
