CHARLOTTE, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – BRRR!! Winter returns today for its last official full day!

After the onset of frost, it remains cold today. Despite the bright blue sky, the temperature reaches 50 degrees.

Clear skies, light winds and cold air make for another frosty night tonight.

FREEZE WARNING comes back into effect tonight with expected lows in the upper 20s. Cold air settles, endangering early blooming plants and crops. Cover them or take them away to avoid damage!

Cool sun is expected again on Monday, with highs only climbing into the low 50s, remaining 10 degrees below average.

GET AN OLD CLOCK effective Tuesday morning as early as another night of frost.

The cold snap is brief and we’ll be back in the 60s by Tuesday and even into the 70s on Thursday and Friday.

A few showers are possible at the end of the week ahead of a cold front next weekend.
