RALEIGH, NC (WTVD) – The Raleigh Police Department has charged a man in connection with a crash Friday night that injured an officer.
According to police, the officer was responding to a call about a broken down vehicle on Hammond Road near Rush Street just after 9 p.m. While the officer was near the patrol car assisting the driver, another vehicle traveling on Hammond Road rear-ended the patrol car. The officer moved quickly to avoid being hit, but was wounded.
The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police charged 55-year-old Reginald Roger Morgan with aggravated vehicular injury, hit and run, reckless driving, careless and reckless driving, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
