A suspected thief clings to the hood of a fleeing car

A group of carjacking suspects narrowly escaped being caught by Chicago police – with one suspect even riding on the hood of the getaway car. Surveillance cameras from a nearby enterprise recorded the incident on video. A group of carjacking suspects narrowly escaped being caught by Chicago police – with one suspect even riding on the hood of the getaway car.

Surveillance cameras from a nearby business captured the incident on video.

The video shows police chasing one suspect down the street before the suspect jumps on the hood of a white getaway car and demands the driver leave.

Police attempted to stop the car, and in doing so, the car hit Chicago Police Sgt. The sergeant was not injured.

The car was able to drive away, and the man was still holding on to the hood.
