KINSTON, NC (WNCT) — The Kinston Police Department is investigating the death of a teenager whose body was found at a former school in eastern North Carolina on Saturday.
Police said in a news release that they arrived at 1:40 p.m. in the area of the 500 block of Marcella Drive and found the body of a 16-year-old male. The boy’s name has not been released at this time.
Kinston City Councilman Chris Suggs first post about filming on his Facebook page.
“Shortly after noon today, I learned that a young man was found dead with what appeared to be a gunshot wound on the grounds of the former Memorial Teachers College. At the time I received the message, the identity of the victim had not yet been established.
I have received several calls regarding this situation and the police presence on Marcella Drive/Linden Avenue and wanted to share this limited information. I can’t share any other information at this time, but I’m sure the Kinston Police Department will release more details as their investigation allows.
My heart goes out to all those affected by this tragic loss.“
