DAREM, North Carolina (WNCN) – Two people have been fatally shot dead in an apartment building in the Durham complex overnight, and two more are in hospital, the Durham Police Department confirms.

Durham police are currently investigating a shooting that killed two men and injured two shortly before 1:25 a.m. at the Cadence at RTP residential complex in 1400 East Cornwallis Road.

As of 5:12 a.m., an official Durham police release confirmed that another man had received life-threatening injuries and another person was not life-threatening. Both were taken to a local hospital.

Price said the city’s mobile command center was headed for an investigation just after 2 p.m.

The release did not say whether they were trying to identify other victims, but confirmed that four men had been injured so far.

In addition, North Carolina Central University Public Information Officer Ayana Hernandez confirmed to CBS 17 that no students were involved or injured in the incident. NCCU is close to the location of the complex.

At the moment, the police also said that there was no information about the suspects.
