Robson County, North Carolina (WBTW) – An 11-year-old girl was found with a loaded gun in a lunch box at Parkton Elementary School in Robson County, the county said.

County spokesman Glen Burnett III said the gun was found in a lunch box shortly after Monday afternoon. The students told the group’s teacher that the student had a gun, and he told a school resource officer.

A school resource officer searched the lunch box and found a gun, Burnett said. The student was automatically dismissed for 365 days.

Burnett said police could blame the parents.
