Android 13 Beta 1 brings new colors to “wallpaper and style”

Android 13 beta 1 presents many new theme and color options in the “Wallpaper and Style” settings of Pixel. With this new change came four new lines for wallpaper colors and primary colors, respectively, bringing their number to 16.

The revelation comes through Esper.io’s Michal Rahmanwhich is a reliable source for Android deep dives. XDA shows that wallpaper and style settings on Android 13 Developer Preview 2 (DP2) included only four wallpaper color options and primary colors.

All new colors introduced in Android 13 Beta 1 are multicolor

Among the recently introduced options – pink, brown, yellow, green, blue, purple, lilac, etc. And all the colors seem multicolored, which makes them more pleasing to the eye. The new additions to the Pixel wallpaper and style settings are minor compared to some of the other features we’ve talked about so far.

However, it’s nice to know that Google wants to increase the available system colors, thus providing more options for users. With the increase in the beta version of Android 13 this will not be the last thing we hear about the changes.

Android 13 Beta 1 brings several other features such as advanced audio routing, new animations for multimedia controls and so on. Developers will also welcome the addition of improved bug reporting through KeyMint.

The new beta also includes a Face Unlock setting for the Pixel 6 Pro. It is rumored that this feature debuted in the Pixel 6 Pro last year, but it did not happen. Shortly after the release of the flagship, we came across reports that Face Unlock could become the flagship in the future. Reports are now suggesting that face unlock may move to the Pixel 6 Pro through the upcoming cancellation of Pixel features. Either way, it’s almost certain that Pixel’s next flagship will include this generic feature by default.

Keep in mind that Android 13 Beta 1 is only available for Pixel devices. As such releases are usually unstable, caution should be exercised. But if you have a spare Pixel, try it does not hurt. Meanwhile, manufacturers like Samsung will launch their beta in a few months.
