The 2022 NFL Draft will begin this Thursday night, but Denver Broncos fans will need to be patient.
The Broncos will not be drafted in the first round this year and do not have their first pick until the end of the second round after the delivery chooses to help acquire Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks.
It’s a deal that almost every fan of the team is still doing well, but the lack of choice in the first round is not something Broncas has faced many times. In fact, after the NFL merger, the team failed to advance to the first round only eight times.
Even in those draft classes, the team still managed to come up with quality players like Roll Jones, Mike Harden, Mark Jackson, Tom Nallen and some guy named Shannon Sharp.
This is proof that great talent and even the ultimate Hall of Fame players can be found in the later stages of selection. Nalen and Sharpe were selected in the seventh round.
George Peyton has nine choices to work for and he still needs to be able to fill in some holes high level players in this draft.
Here’s a look at how things went for the Broncos on the last three drafts in which they didn’t pick in the first round, which dates back quite a while.
