Changan Auto sales in January reach more than 270,000 vehicles driven by brands that are wholly owned

Beijing (Gasgoo) – Changan Auto has started 2022 with a growing momentum, in January it sold more than 130,000 cars in the Blue Whale line.

In the first month of 2022, Changan Auto sold 277,244 vehicles, up 10.03% from a year ago. Sales of cars under the Chinese brand of the group amounted to 226,016 units, which is 12.6% over the year. Of the 158,625 cars sold, the brand of cars wholly owned by Changan Auto increased 3.4% over the same period last year.

Especially the Blue Whale family, a lineup consisting of all models running on Changan Auto’s own Blue Whale engine, sold more than 130,000 cars in January. Monthly sales of the CS75 and CS55 exceeded the historical mark of 30,000 cars: 33,590 and 30,316 cars were sold, respectively.

What’s more, Changan Auto’s intelligent, younger-generation line, the UNI series, sold 12,047 cars in January. The first sedan model based on the Ark architecture, UNI-V, will begin global pre-sale on February 21st.

In January, sales of new Changan Auto power vehicles amounted to 13,600 vehicles.

As for the joint brands of the automaker, Changan Mazda sold 19,888 cars in the first month of 2022, an increase of 67.69% year on year. Meanwhile, in Changan Ford sales decreased by 17.48% compared to the same period last year: 24,853 cars were sold.

In addition, in January, Changan Auto’s monthly sales abroad amounted to 23,824 vehicles.
