Two Russian companies – 4xxi software developer and L-Charge charger maker – are working together to set up an EV charging network in London, which is scheduled to launch this year.

L-Charge ultra-fast chargers, which scale quickly off-grid, use energy from locally stored fossil fuels rather than from the grid. L-Charge has tested a mobile gas charging station in Moscow and plans to use it to offer on-demand charging in London. The mobile station is a “truck with a set of equipment installed on board, which works on the principle of a gas power plant.” Customers can call for payment via the mobile app and book a charge in advance at a pre-scheduled time.

“Use of hydrogen or LNG / g2 instead of connecting to the grid, the mixture is the most efficient way to provide electricity on the spot, ”said L-Charge CEO Dmitry Lashin. “Low-carbon fuel is currently the most economically feasible solution, and can be used as a surmountable technology for a neutral carbon solution such as hydrogen. Even by using clean LNG to charge EVs, we are already significantly reducing emissions. ”
