(EXACT HIGHLANDS) — Overnight showers in the mountains taper off as patchy fog sets in for the morning commute.
Thursday gets off to a fresh start with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. Clouds will be patchy as light rain tapers off just before sunrise.
Winds today will be light with variable directions, so the temperature will rise to 80 degrees in the afternoon. Chances of rain and storms will return, potentially bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms.
We can expect these storms to be quick and patchy before dissipating tonight. On the night from Thursday to Friday, it will be comfortable, if on the last day of the working week, more than 60 years will be calculated.
Temperatures will be in the upper 70s on Friday, but there is a better chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. This stationary front to our south will move north over the weekend and bring a low pressure system back into the Carolinas.
Storms are likely to peak in the afternoon and early evening with areas of heavy rain continuing into Saturday night.
We should catch a small lull with a chance of rain as temperatures climb into the 80s over the weekend.
We’ll have slightly below normal temperatures and the occasional storm through the middle of next week.
In the tropics, we are tracking one disturbance southeast of the Yucatan Peninsula that has a 20% to 30% chance of development over the next 2-5 days as it moves into the southern Gulf of Mexico.
We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one to see how it matures.
Today: Mostly cloudy, in places thunderstorms. Tall: 82.
Tonight: Comfortable and cloudy. Low: 67.
