(WEATHER) — Halfway through the working week and the heat has arrived!
Temperatures in the Queen City this morning range from 70 degrees to 60 degrees above 70 degrees. Winds will be light at first, but will shift from the east to the northeast later in the afternoon.
It gets hot as high pressure builds, which is predicted to give way to abundant sunlight. Watch to see temperatures reach the mid 90s with a heat index near 102 degrees! Be sure to take plenty of indoor breaks during peak heating hours.
We keep a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, but it will be more dry than wet. Showers taper off at night and temperatures drop into the low 70s.
We’ll be back in the low 90s on Thursday as the chance of rain and storms increases a bit. As the weekend approaches, we’ll drop back into the 80s and see a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Look for our summer pattern with temperatures near 90 degrees and afternoon storms returning early next week.
Today: Mostly sunny and hot. High: 95.
Tonight: Partly cloudy and warm. Low: 73.
