An organized office space without tidy cables still looks like a battlefield. Zip ties can damage the wires over time and should not be reused. Magnetic cable ties, however, are easy on your cables and can be used over and over again. Dare we say they make organizing fun?

How do they work?

Magnetic cable ties are made of silicone to provide good elasticity without constricting your cables to the point of damaging the wires inside. These useful office tools manage different types of cables:

  • Clean out a drawer full of various chargers and cables. Stop searching for a big tangled ball of wire.
  • Keep your car phone charger and auxiliary cable together so they never get lost again. Let them hang on the console or keep them in the glove compartment.
  • Hide your PC cables under your desk. If your desk has a metal frame, you can tie all the cords together and then magnetize them on your desk to keep them out of sight and out of sight.

warning: Always use caution when using magnets around certain devices such as mechanical hard drives and pacemakers.

Different brands offer wild colors and sometimes longer cords. Here are two more packages we also like:

Can I use magnetic cable ties on thick cords?

Yes, you can. The connection is not as strong as a zipper, so the tension required may be too much for one or two silicone magnetic cable ties. If you encounter this problem, try using multiple switches or bundling fewer cords.

How long do magnetic cable ties last?

Silicone is durable. As long as you don’t subject them to extreme stress beyond normal use, these magnetic cable ties will last for years. Magnets can lose strength over time, although this depends on many variables.

What else can I use these cable ties for?

Magnetic cable ties are versatile enough to be used for countless creative purposes:

  • Magnetize pictures or papers to stick to the fridge
  • Make a loop for important mail and hang it on a key shelf.
  • Tie open food bags.
  • Use colorful magnetic ties instead of shower curtain rings to decorate your bathroom.

These are just a few, but feel free to use your imagination!
