Fayetteville police have arrested a 16-year-old for threatening to shoot at Cape Fear High School in Cumberland County.

Sources told WRAL News that on Friday, a student at E. Smith High School threatened students and staff at Cape Fear through social media posts.

WRAL News has learned that the student had a manifesto and a hit list.

The Cumberland County School System is aware of the incident and is working to protect those who were at risk with additional security.

WRAL News will continue to follow this story and work to get a response from juvenile justice leaders.
