Three weeks of boxing are approaching Battle zone subscribers, including the World Boxing Championships in Glasgow.
On April 30, we are at Bolton Stadium, and they have an explosive collision in a heavyweight that exceeds the score. IBO Champion Jack Messi (19-1) will face Vaclav Peysar (19-12) from the Czech Republic for ten rounds.
Messi has been extremely impressive lately and will enter the ring full of confidence, getting rid of his last two opponents by a sharp knockout.
Peisar certainly could not be underestimated, and he knocked out fifteen of his opponents in his nineteen victories. He also shattered the odds during his previous visit to the British shores, stopping the highly regarded Craig Glover for two rounds.
The stage is prepared for a tough fight on April 30, supplemented by a multiple undercard, featuring many top prospects and high-ranking contenders.
The drama continues in Glasgow at Crowne Plaza on May 6 with the film “New Era”. At the top of the score – the long-awaited international showdown, which lasts between ten rounds Marios Matamba (12-1) and Kane Gardner (13-2).
Matamba is appearing in the UK for the first time and has a great reputation for stopping 10 of its rivals.
Gardner is a big step in the class for Matamba and also has a knockout power, stopping seven of his opponents in the distance and winning his last race through a break in the fourth round.
It’s a return to Glasgow on May 13 at Scotland’s main arena for a historic homecoming as well Hannah Rankin defends his WBA and IBO super-middleweight titles from the dangerous Mexican Alejandra Ayala.
Rankin is the first world champion in Scotland, and this is the first time the boxer has headlined the event at OVO Hydro. It was an incredible journey for Rankin, who climbed to the top of women’s boxing in just five years as a professional.
During this time, Rankin traveled the world in search of opportunities. From London to America, from Malta to South Africa, it really was a worldwide apprenticeship. Several setbacks along the way, and now she has received the award for returning to her country to become a headliner and defend those world titles.
In the opposite corner is Alejandra Ayala which is a formidable first defense. Boxing has a rich history of top-level Mexican boxers, and Ayala will be proud to represent his country.
It’s a chance for Ayala to create her own story by becoming Mexico’s first female super-middleweight champion, and she uses that motivation to reach new levels in training. This is a fascinating competition for the title of world champion.
The event is supported by one of the strongest undercards in the history of Scottish boxing.
Nathaniel Collins against Jacob Robinson – The title of the champion of the Commonwealth in lightweight
David Jamison against Jack Spelman – International IBO Heavyweight Title
Regan Glakin against Martin Taylor – Round 10 All-Dutch skirmish
Kieran Smith, Michael McGurk, Jordan Grant, Calvin McCord, Aran McGarvey and Joe Ham also a feature.
