FuboTV today announced that as of December 31, 2021, the streaming service had 1.13 million paid subscribers compared to 1 million subscribers at the end of the third quarter of 2021. The addition of 185,000 subscriptions in the fourth quarter means the service closed in 2021 with a 106% increase in subscriptions than the year before.

And that surpasses the instruction update published by the company on January 10, 2021, when it said it expects more than 1.1 million paid subscriptions, compared to previous instructions from 1.06 million to 1.07 million.

“FuboTV has shown a record fourth quarter and full year on a number of our key financial and operational indicators,” said David Handler, co-founder and CEO of FuboTV, in a press release. “The engagement remains strong as we add differentiated content to our offering and focus on introducing innovation to our product to meet consumer preferences and gain a premium experience. Our real money betting expansion continues with the launch of the Fubo Sportsbook in two states, and additional states are expected to appear this year. This launch is a differentiated and industry-leading integration of streaming and sports betting, and we see ourselves in the earliest stages of a huge opportunity. ”

By comparison, FuboTV still accounts for about a quarter of the size of Hulu With Live TV, which last reported 4.3 million subscribers, and half that of Sling TV, which ended its third quarter with 2.556 million subscribers.

FuboTV now says it expects to gain 1.5 million subscribers for the full year in North America alone, with nearly a quarter of a million in the rest of the world. In addition to the United States, FuboTV is available in Canada and Spain, as well as in France through the acquisition of Molotov.

“Our fourth quarter marks an extraordinary year marked by a three-digit increase in total revenue, advertising revenue and subscriber growth over the same period last year, continuing to increase the adjusted fee,” said Edgar Bronfman Jr., FuboTV’s executive chairman. income. “During the year, we achieved several important milestones that represent significant advances toward our mission to create the world’s leading global platform for live television broadcasting with the most premium content, interactivity and integrated rates. Our progress during 2021 further strengthens our position to continue this mission in 2022. ”

FuboTV is available on every major streaming platform – including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV and Google TV – on a variety of smart TVs and web browsers. Its plans start at $ 70 per month for 110 channels and reach the “Elite” tariff plan for $ 80 per month with 162 channels and additional cloud storage for recording. And FuboTV still has many add-ons that you can’t find elsewhere, including a number of sports plans with coverage around the world.
