According to Georgian police, the woman got into traffic and fell under the car shortly after she was accused of shooting at a 61-year-old man.
Officers went to the scene shooting around 1 p.m. on June 21 and found a 61-year-old man with a life-threatening gunshot wound, according to a message on the Savannah Police Department’s Facebook page.
Soon there were suggestions of an accident involving a pedestrian.
Detectives found that the suspect in the shooting is a pedestrian, the report said. The suspect, 32-year-old Whitney Rivers, drove off the road and was hit by a car, causing serious injuries.
After she was taken to hospital for treatment, officers took her to Chatham County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated beating, the statement said.
Savannah is located about 260 miles southeast of Atlanta.
