The Git Tower team, which is a client of Git for Windows and Mac, recently announced the release of Tower 8 for Mac, which offers users a complete new set of tools for viewing, pinning, comparing and filtering industries. This release is designed to offer significant workflow branching improvements.
Some notable features that Tower 8 users access are the ability to compare branches, view branches, pin branches, filter sidebar, and filter tags and remote branches.
Thanks to the ability to compare branches, users can now access branch history and compare it with another local branch. In this case, you can see only those fixations that have been made in the branch of the function. This becomes especially useful if you need to look at all the changes that have been implemented by a particular industry.
The “Industry Overview” view is available in the “Workspace” section of the sidebar and aims to help users identify which industries have become obsolete or obsolete. This allows you to clear the Git repository with the confidence that only important industries remain.
In addition, industries can be sorted by several different parameters, including:
- Date of last update
- Active or stale
- Fully united, united or with merger conflicts
- With or without pull requests
- With tracking errors
Tower 8 also allows you to pin branches when you right-click on them. Once the branch is secured, it will appear in the new “pinned” part of the sidebar, which simplifies the process of finding the important branches you need.
In this release, users will also experience general improvements and bug fixes. Among them is that selected industries now show pull-out request numbers in the header when there is a corresponding pull-out request, loading multiple tags is now much faster and does not interfere with other operations, and spell-checking settings are now re-saved to lock subject fields and whole.
