Hamza Shiraz v. Francisco Emanuel Torres

Copper Box Arena, London, England – July 16, 2022

Young Boxer of the Year Hamza Shiraz returns to the ring on July 16 at London’s Copper Box Arena that evening, which includes a double UK title featuring Lennox Clark and Nick Ball live on BT Sport.

Shiraz (15-0, 11 KOs) continues his search for the middleweight division, defending his international silver title according to the WBC – won in the last timeout out of defeat by Jazz Smith – against the Argentine Francisco Emanuel Torres (17-3-1, 5 KO) over 10 rounds.

Birmingham Lennox Clark (20-1-1, 8 KOs) for the first time defends his UK and Commonwealth middleweight titles against another major champion in Oldham Mark Hefron (27-2-1, 21 KOs) in what is likely to be a strong clash, and the IBF Intercontinental Championship belt is also on the line.

Liverpool’s new star Nick Ball (15-0, 8 KO) claims to add Britain and Commonwealth belts in lightweight to WBC silver title, which he won by defeating Isaac Lowe at Wembley Stadium, taking against undefeated Scottish talent Nathaniel Collins (11-0, 5 KOs).

An exceptional young star in the lightweight division Dennis McCann (12-0, 6 KOs) makes the lightweight jump in a fight over 10 rounds for the vacant WBC International Silver vs. James Beach Jr. (14-2, 2 KOs), a two-time contender for the UK super-lightweight title.

Southampton sniper Ryan “Piranha” Garner (11-0, 6 KOs) is back in an eight-round fight against the Mexican Christian Lopez Torres (13-18-2, 11 KOs) before likely challenge for title in next timeout with new Queensberry recruit Pierce O’Leary (9-0, 5 KOs) from Dublin are fighting over eight in the super-lightweight division.

The postcard also features a young star in the light heavyweight division King Itaum (7-0, 5 KOs) in his eighth professional assignment in six rounds, with a rise in super-lightweight Masood Abdullah (4-0, 4 KOs) appearing at the same distance.

Super light weight Umar Khan (3-0) and super light Sony Listan Ali (3-0) will compete in six round competitions with southern weight Khalid Ali (2-0, 1 KO) and Sean Knox (1-0) appears in the four-round.

“It’s really going to be an explosive boxing night at the Copper Box,” promoter Frank Warren said. “According to boxers Hamza Shiraz, the young boxer of the year is rightly included in his second fight in the middleweight division against the incompetent Francisco Torres, who has not won in the last 10 and fought at a good level. This is the perfect international test for Hamza in defense of his title.

“It doesn’t get much better than the two British title fights we’re having. Lennox Clark vs. Mark Hefron wrote the war, and neither man likes to take a step back, and both possess immense power.

“Nick Ball is now a big noise in the lightweight division and he can fight for the UK and Commonwealth titles against the highly regarded Nathaniel Collins, who is attracting rave reviews about his recent performances. If Nick can add those two belts to his WBC silver title, he won’t be far from fighting for the world title.

“Dennis McCann is another one who is now making significant strides forward, and“ Threat ”is ready to move to the lightweight division and take on a real challenge from James Beach Jr. for the WBC International silver belt.

“Ryan Garner is also on the verge of fighting for the title and he will strive to impress and show that he will be our super-lightweight, while I am also excited to welcome another young fighter who is dealing in the formidable super-lightweight Pierce O.” Lyre.

Tickets for the show at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday, July 16, cost from £ 55 and will go on sale tomorrow at 11 a.m. (Tuesday, May 31) from SeeTickets.com.
