The 2023 Stadium Series outdoor game weekend continues to add events and grow.
The Stadium Series game, which pits the Carolina Hurricanes against the Washington Capitals on Saturday, February 18, is the centerpiece. The game at North Carolina State’s Carter-Finley Stadium will be Carolina’s first outdoor game, and it sold out quickly.
The Hurricanes announced Tuesday that they will also host their 10th Alumni Game on Monday, Feb. 20, at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Another recent addition, the NC State IcePack will take on North Carolina on Sunday, February 19th in the so-called “Frozen Finley” college hockey game.
North Carolina State is already scheduled to host men’s basketball Sunday at PNC Arena. This ACC game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
The weekend kicks off with Fan Fest events in downtown Raleigh on Friday. Hootie and the Blowfish will be in concert Friday night at PNC Arena.
The Canes Alumni Game, which will be captained by Rod Brind’Amour and Justin Williams, kicks off at 4pm on Sunday. Tickets are not required for fans, but the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation will accept additional donations at the gate.
Team captains will be Rod Brind’Amour and Justin Williams, and Canes alumni participating include Bates Battaglia, Jesse Bouleris, Tim Brent, Eric Cole, Mike Commodore, Jeff Daniels, Tim Gleason, Sean Hill, Chad LaRose, Steve Rice, Aaron Ward, Cam Ward and Shane Willis.
A limited number of seats are available for fans interested in the game. Players must be at least 18 years old and have hockey experience. The entry fee is $5,000.
