Three rounds are officially in the books.
With one day left before the 2022 NFL Draft, many footballers from Iowa, Iowa and Northern Iowa could hear their names on Saturday during the last four rounds.
So far we have seen Trevor Penning in Northern Iowa (№ 19 to New Orleans Saints), Iowa Tyler Linderbaum (№ 25 in Baltimore Ravens) and Iowa Bryce Hall (№ 36 in New York Jets) get off the board.
Penning made the history of Northern Iowa, became the first Panther player to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, while Linderbaum’s choice was noted the sixth lineman of the attack led by Iowa head coach Kirk Ferenc will be drafted in the first round. Hall was the first “tail” taken in the 2022 NFL draft.
Here’s a look at what happened on Friday night and what fans can expect on Saturday in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh rounds.
The selection of Bryce Hall, made by the New York Jets, highlights Friday’s NFL draft
Skipping the first round, The hall did not have to wait long to hear his name called Friday.
The Jets exchanged to choose the Cyclone tailback, and NFL draft analysts admired his approach to the crime and his projected engagement with New York backman Michael Carter.
“Together (Hall and Carter) together they can control it and catch it from the rear. That’s the key,” said Louis Rydick of ESPN. “Here’s how it will help (Jets QB) Zach Wilson. Of course, they’re going to play football with (Hall). He’s big, strong, physical, (and has) a lot of patience behind the line of scrimmage, a great break and a second-tier finish.”
What to expect on the last day of the 2022 NFL Draft
That’s where everything gets interesting.

Iowa State Charlotte Charlie Collar – who is scheduled to be the second Cyclone’s tight end in 2022 – was predicted by many to be the choice for the second day, but his name was not released during the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft. ESPN considers Kolar the third best tight end and the 19th best overall outlook available on Saturday.
There is a good chance lineman defending Eyom Uwazurike on Saturday also hears his name called. Originally predicted in the fifth (The Athletic) and sixth rounds (NFL.com and CBS Sports), the Uvazurike is the best available defensive piece of ESPN that remains on the board on Friday night.
Tyler Goodson, fleeing Iowa NFL.com and CBS Sports are expected to advance to the fourth round on Saturday. Hawkeye defensive defender Dane Belton, which led Iowa with five interceptions last year, is also projected by NFL.com and The Athletic as choices in the fifth round. In four of the last five NFL drafts, Hockey has seen at least one defender. ESPN named Belton fourth in security and 76th out of the best prospects overall on Saturday. Goodson is the 18th best tail left, according to ESPN.

Onlineback Mike Rose It is projected that in the fifth round (The Athletic) and in the seventh round NFL.com and CBS Sports). Athletic also projects linebacker Jake Hamel as the choice of the seventh round.
Northern Iowa can also see the second player selected in this draft. Wide Isaiah Weston selected by The Athletic as the choice in the seventh round. The Panthers have only twice seen two players in the same NFL draft as it has shrunk to seven rounds: in 2021 and 2008.

Trevor Penning, Tyler Linderbaum find ladies in the NFL during the first round
Mel Keeper of ESPN believed that Penning had talent to influence the NFL, but shared his concerns about his ability to block without restraint.
“There is talent, technology requires work, but no one is evil,” said Kipper. “He plays far beyond the whistle, guys. … the talent is there. He just needs a coach.”
The keeper, however, there didn’t seem to be much to worry about choosing the Crow Linderbaum, despite the fact that he undressed in the first round due to concerns about the length of his arms.
“He has all the skills in the world needed to be a professional player,” said Kipper. “Short arms? I can name many centers that have been very effective – also the Hall of Fame – with short arms. … Linderbaum is going to consolidate this line right away as a newbie.”
