FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded Sunday to Mikotos, located along the 7900 block of Raeford Road, in reference to a disturbance in the parking lot.
According to the caller, several shots were fired at the car after midnight.
Officers said the two men were under the influence when they left the business and got into a white pickup truck in the parking lot.
One of the suspects, 22-year-old Joshua Caleb Hunt, reportedly drove a truck through the seating area at Mikotos Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Restaurant.
Further investigation into the incident revealed that after the suspect got into an altercation in the open area, he got into a white pickup truck and intentionally drove it into the rest area, hitting several people. He then backed into the rest area, hitting them a second time.
The truck was shot at and the men fled the scene.
Officers were able to locate the car with one of the men in the truck. Another man was found at a Circle K near the incident. Both men were taken into custody.
Police determined the other suspect was not involved in Hunt’s actions and was released.
Hunt was taken into custody and charged with the following:
- Two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to murder, causing serious bodily injury
- One count each of assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury, damage to real property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
Hunt is being held in the Cumberland County Jail on $300,000 bond.
