WINSTON-SALEM, NC (WGHP) — A North Carolina man was sentenced Friday to the maximum of nearly six decades in prison on multiple counts of child sex crimes.
Fernando Romero-Vidal pleaded guilty to the following charges:
- Six counts of indecent liberties with a child
- Six counts of child rape
- Three counts of first-degree sexual offenses against a child
According to the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office, Romero-Vidal’s case involved “sexual abuse of a minor that began when the minor was 12 years old and continued until he was 16 years old.”
The Honorable David Hall of Forsyth County sentenced the defendant to death
the term of imprisonment is 40-58 years.
Judge Hall also ordered that Romero-Vidal must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
