Manchester United Defender Diogo Dalot says he and his teammates are looking forward to working under Eric Ten Hague next season.

Ajax Boss Ten Haag was confirmed as United’s new manager in April and at the end of the season will take charge of the Red Devils.

He faces a huge challenge with the club, which is in disarray after a disappointing and sad season, but the appointment of the Dutchman has raised some hope that better times lie ahead.

“I don’t think you need to see much to know he’s a great manager – what he’s done with Ajax is something outstanding,” Dalot said. Sky Sports.

“He plays very attractive football, I think every United fan is happy to have such a manager, and we, the players, too.

“It will be clear in our heads who will be the manager next season, and that’s good because we’re taking a break in our heads knowing who to expect.

“Then we will have time before the season to work together, implement our ideas properly and start a new season.”

Dalot, who joined United in 2018, has been fighting for playing time for several years and spent last season on loan at AC Milan.

But this season, the 23-year-old is more likely to be in the starting lineup, having played 28 matches in all competitions, with interim manager Ralph Rangnik preferring him to Aaron Van Bisak.

The Portuguese has also benefited from the arrival of teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, and Dalot will hope the striker stays at Old Trafford after this season.

“I’m sure I’m talking not only for myself, but he was one of the most positive things this season – working with someone who has a culture of work, professionalism, mentality and closeness to him now … very useful for me and my careers, ”Dalot added.

“I have no more compliments about the way he works, he’s also a fantastic person.

“The numbers are there, the statistics are there, so we’re obviously very happy to have him here.

“He is a very friendly man. When he feels trusted by other people, he gives you 100 percent of himself.

“Everyone gets along with him here, everyone likes him to be around. It is always a big plus to have such a player and a person in the locker room. “
