Maserati aims to buck the stereotype that Italian cars are unreliable and has announced a new 10-year warranty program for its cars.

The new Extra10 warranty program extends powertrain components, including the engine and transmission, until the vehicle is 10 years old. This program is offered in addition to Maserati’s existing four- or five-year warranty program.

“This new service allows Maserati to provide all its customers with innovative offers, adding value in terms of unprecedented flexibility in the automotive world,” Maserati said in a statement. “A major new feature for the brand, aimed at consolidating the value of its vehicles over time, ensuring total peace of mind by combining the ultimate performance and driving pleasure typical of every Trident vehicle.”

The Extra10 warranty program is available for all new Maserati models and will be offered in the US, Canada and Latin America starting October 1, 2022. The warranty includes a number of additional services, including delivery and return services to the owner’s home and the availability of free vehicles.

The Extra10 warranty program is also believed to be available for the brand’s future electric vehicles, although this has yet to be confirmed.

One of Maserati’s most exciting new models in the pipeline is an all-electric version of the GranTurismo, dubbed falhor. Although the automaker has not confirmed the specifications of this model, it is rumored to be equipped with a three-motor electric transmission that produces a remarkable 1,184 hp. This will make it the most powerful road-going Maserati ever produced, and will apparently be enough to propel it from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds and on to a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). An electric version of the MC20 is also under development.
