LOS ANGELES, MARCH 8 – Melissa Santos is set to become the new voice of world boxing after she was announced today as Probellum’s ring announcer.
The 36-year-old woman from Los Angeles believes that teaming up with Probellum in such a significant role will act as a “variable game” for women in the sport.
Santos made her name in professional wrestling with Lucha Underground and then in Impact Wrestling, but will now act as a speaker to represent some of the biggest male and female names in professional boxing.
She is making her debut at Probellum double theme events in Dubai next weekwhere she will announce bouts for the world title, including Estelle Mosley’s historic defense against Ioannina del Carmen Lescano.
“I’ve always loved fighting competitions and loved announcing the ring from the first time I picked up this mic for a presentation,” said excited Melissa Santos.
“Connecting with Probellum changes the game. I am a female ring announcer in a sport traditionally dominated by men, and Probellum understands that now is the time to showcase women in a different light in the industry.
“Probellum is innovative and going to capture the world of boxing by storm. I’m so excited to be here to ride. It’s time! Let’s go! ”
