CHARLOTTE, NC – North Carolina’s top Republicans are outlining their top priorities for the 2023 legislative session, which begins next week. House Speaker Tim Moore and Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger discussed their agenda at a meeting with the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance on Monday.

On the list of topics for discussion are Medicaid expansion, higher education funding, broadband and 5G, sports betting, jet fuel sales tax exemptions and transportation funding.

“When we’re talking about transportation, I want to see no more of these bike lanes, no more rails that are so expensive and serve only a limited purpose. But we will really increase the carrying capacity of our roads and roads. You immediately go outside and get stuck, and that shouldn’t happen,” said Speaker Moore.

The 2023 North Carolina General Assembly is scheduled to convene on January 11, 2023 and conclude on July 28, 2023.
