CHARLOTTE, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Detectives are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead on the ground as officers responded to a welfare check in southwest Charlotte late Thursday night, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Police said officers were called to the 12400 block of South Tryon Street shortly before midnight where they found a “male” lying on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
CMPD said the investigation into the man’s death is active and ongoing.
Neither a potential suspect nor a motive was mentioned in the case.
