As of Monday morning, a house fire in Hillsborough has left one person dead and two others injured.
The Orange County Fire Marshal is investigating a house fire that left one person dead and two others injured, according to the Orange County Fire Department.
A two-story home on Faucette Mill Road in Hillsboro caught fire shortly after 1 a.m. Monday. Firefighters rescued two people from the building, who were later hospitalized, the fire station reported social networks.
Part of the home collapsed during the fire, trapping a third victim inside, where firefighters were initially unable to reach. That man, whose name has not been released, was later found and pronounced dead, the report said.
The condition of the two hospitalized victims is still unknown.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
