The OnePlus 10 Pro was launched worldwide not so long ago, and the Pixel 6 Pro appeared last year. Both of these devices are extremely powerful and they have something to offer. However, they are not as similar as some might think. They feel quite different in the hand, while their software offerings are also significantly different.

There are a number of other differences between them as they focus on different aspects of the user experience. We will first list their specifications next, and then move on to a comparison in a number of different categories. These categories include design, display, performance, battery, camera and audio. With that said, let’s start by comparing the OnePlus 10 Pro and the Google Pixel 6 Pro, right?

Characteristics

OnePlus 10 Pro vs. Google Pixel 6 Pro: design

The first thing you need to know when it comes to design is that both of these phones are quite large. The OnePlus 10 Pro is noticeably narrower than the Pixel 6 Pro, but it’s just as tall and just as thick / thin. The measurements are not identical, but they are also close together. The OnePlus 10 Pro is a little lighter than Google’s flagship, but not by much. Both devices weigh more than 200 grams, which is to be expected given their size.

Both phones are made of metal and glass, although the OnePlus 10 Pro is less slippery. It has a softer touch back panel that doesn’t look like glass, at least on the black version of the device we tested. It’s actually noticeably stronger than regular glass, and nicer to the touch, though it’s certainly just textured glass. It also does a great job when it comes to fingerprints, much better than the Pixel 6 Pro.

Both phones have curved displays with extremely thin bezels. You’ll notice a display camera hole on both, but they’re located in different places. However, the design of the rear camera is completely different. The OnePlus 10 Pro camera module is an extension of its framework, while the Pixel 6 Pro is actually a strip of camera that goes from one side to the other. These are completely different approaches.

All in all, both phones feel pretty premium in the hand. The OnePlus 10 Pro is easier to navigate with one hand as it is less slippery and less wide. So if this is important to you, pay attention to the difference.

OnePlus 10 Pro vs. Google Pixel 6 Pro: Display

The OnePlus 10 Pro has a 6.7-inch QHD + (3216 x 1440) LTPO2 Fluid AMOLED display. It is a curved display that supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and this refresh rate is adaptive. This display supports HDR10 + content and can project up to 1 billion colors. It gets pretty bright at a peak brightness of 1300 bolts and it is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Here we consider the aspect ratio of the display is 20: 9.

The Google Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, includes a 6.71-inch QHD + (3120 x 1440) LTPO AMOLED display. This panel is also curved and it also supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The Pixel 6 Pro panel also supports HDR10 + content and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The aspect ratio of this display is 19.5: 9, so it is slightly different from that offered by the OnePlus 10 Pro.

It’s a lot of technical talk, but all you need to know is that both panels are really great. Both displays are extremely smooth when scrolling, very bright and very bright. Colors appear on both displays, and black is as deep as expected on the AMOLED panel. In addition, the viewing angles are also excellent. The two displays are set up differently, but both are really great and you won’t go wrong with either.

Both phones use LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash drive, and they come with the latest version of Android. Their software builds are quite different as the OnePlus 10 Pro comes with OxygenOS 12.1.

Many people have shared their dissatisfaction with OxygenOS 12.1, as it really resembles ColorOS, and it is a step away from OxygenOS 11. Despite this, however, OxygenOS 12.1 works great in real life, and the same goes for Vanilla Android on the Pixel 6 Pro . Truth be told, these two software builds are different, but equally great in terms of performance. Both of these phones go through everything you throw at them and they feel very smooth as long as they do. You will really find it hard to slow down any of them.

They can perform multitasking like no other, and the same goes for other daily tasks. Whether you are browsing, taking photos / videos, using multimedia or anything else, they will deliver. Even when it comes to gaming, you’ll realize that these two phones are great in terms of performance. Even the heat was not a problem during the game, although both warmed up. Both phones work great and are likely to stay that way for quite some time.

OnePlus 10 Pro vs. Google Pixel 6 Pro: Battery

OnePlus 10 Pro has a battery capacity of 5000 mAh, and Pixel 6 Pro – 5003 mAh. So they have basically the same battery capacity. However, there are some differences in battery life. The OnePlus 10 Pro was more consistent for us, the Pixel 6 Pro fluctuated. Sometimes we got 5.5 hours of screen time, other times it easily exceeded the 6-hour time mark, with similar use.

The OnePlus 10 Pro constantly gave us over 6 hours of continuous screen viewing. That doesn’t mean you don’t get different numbers. Note that games can significantly affect battery life, as we often played light games on two devices. As usual, your mileage may vary. It will all depend on your usage, the apps you use and install, your location / signal, etc.

In the charging department, the OnePlus 10 Pro easily wins. The phone supports 80W wired charging (65W in North America) and 50W wireless charging, as well as support for wireless charging. The Google Pixel 6 Pro supports wired charging with a power of 23 watts, although it slows down significantly after 50 percent. It also supports 23W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. It will take you about 2 hours to fully charge the Pixel 6 Pro (via wire), while the OnePlus 10 Pro will reach this in about half an hour (charging 80 watts).

OnePlus 10 Pro vs. Google Pixel 6 Pro: Camera

It’s no secret that the Google Pixel 6 Pro is one of the best smartphones with a camera. By the way, OnePlus 10 Pro also works in this department. Both phones have three cameras on the back, and both use wide, ultra-wide and telephoto. The sensors are different, as is the software used here. The OnePlus 10 Pro is also supported by Hasselblad, while the company has also been involved in color rendering.

Both phones do a great job in good lighting. They provide detailed images with great clarity and color. The Pixel 6 Pro works a little better in HDR conditions, while we preferred the colors that the OnePlus 10 Pro provides most of the time. Overall, however, we preferred the Pixel 6 Pro shots. Both phones offer night modes, so you can cover scenes quite a lot, and both can save a lot of detail from such shots.

Ultra-wide cameras are good for both, though you get a wider focus on the OnePlus 10 Pro. Note that its 150-degree pattern does create a fisheye effect. The images from the ultra-wide cameras on both phones were great, even in low light. The photos were more accurate and detailed on the Pixel 6 Pro, although the OnePlus 10 Pro has nothing to mock.

Video recording was good on both, although at the time we tested the OnePlus 10 Pro, 4K frames were pretty shaky on the main sensor, while that wasn’t the case with the ultra-wide camera. Perhaps OnePlus has already fixed this through an update.

Audio

First of all, note that neither of these two phones has a 3.5mm headphone jack. You will need to contact the Type-C or Bluetooth port. It’s on course these days, but it’s worth noting. Both phones have stereo speakers and they are pretty great. The main speaker is at the bottom, and the secondary – front (located above the display) on both devices.

Both sets of speakers are really good. They get pretty loud and the sound is clean. We did not notice any noticeable distortion at the highest volume. Not many people will find anything to complain about when it comes to these speakers. They’re not the best we’ve heard on smartphones, but they’re good on both phones, and they offer a somewhat similar output.
