Police have identified a 45-year-old North Carolina man who authorities say shot and killed his wife and three children and then himself at their High Point home on Saturday.
As a result, all five people died Police ruled it a murder/suicide.
Athalia A. Creighton, 46, and Cassin Creighton, 18, were fatally shot by Robert J. Creighton Jr. on Saturday at their home in the 2700 block of Mossy Meadow Drive, High Point police said Monday.
A 16-year-old and a 10-year-old, whose names have not been released by police, were also killed and Robert Creighton took his own life, according to High Point police.
Two people in the house fled, police added. Earlier, High Point police said neighbors started calling 911 because two people who had fled the home were screaming for help as they ran away.
Police said they were “still investigating the motive.”
In a statement released Monday, officials said, “High Point officers have responded to this address five additional times since 2014.
“Prior to this weekend’s incident, the last call home was on January 3, 2022, when officers were serving a detention order.”
