Premier League club captains have decided to no longer kneel before every match, but have reaffirmed their commitment to fighting racism and discrimination.

A statement on behalf of the 20 captains explained: “We have chosen to choose important moments to kneel throughout the season to emphasize our unity against all forms of racism, and in doing so we continue to show solidarity for a common cause.

“We remain strongly committed to eradicating racial prejudice and creating an inclusive society with respect and equal opportunities for all.”
