Police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run early Sunday morning, the Raleigh Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.

A man was hospitalized early Sunday morning with serious injuries after a shooting in Raleigh, according to local police.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Boyer Street and St. Augustine Avenue, just south of the St. Augustine University campus, the Raleigh Police Department said in a news release.

The man was taken to the hospital “for treatment of serious injuries,” RPD said, after being shot in the head. The investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
