RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) – Will Rowe’s Supreme Court overturn Wade? This is a big question after the draft opinion was published, which seems to show that the High Court is ready to overturn Rowe v. Wade. It featured many North Carolina politicians.
On Monday, Gov. Roy Cooper said that if the court does overturn Rowe v. Wade, states such as North Carolina will decide on women’s health care.
“Now more than ever, state governors and legislatures have to stand up for women’s health,” Cooper said on Twitter on Monday.
Former North Carolina Chief Justice Cherry Beasley also made the statement.
“If this decision is confirmed, it is the moment we feared, warned and fought against. It’s horrible for women all over the country, ”Beasley said.
Republican Congresswoman Madison Cowthorne said in a statement that she wanted to end Rowe W. Wade.
“This leak was intended to force the Supreme Court to step down. Pray for the end of Rowe v. Wade. Science, common sense and life will win, ”Coutorne said.
NC Values Coalition Executive Director Tammy Fitzgerald said that if the decision is true, the organization supports the decision.
“We believe that the people of North Carolina have the right to address this issue by passing laws that protect unborn children and respect women, and that is what we are ready to do,” Fitzgerald said.
