Roxbury, North Carolina – Roxbury’s mother was shot dead early Friday morning. The police chief told WRAL News it was the first murder in the city this year.
Roxbour police officers responded to 1396 Graham Drive by 2 a.m., where they found several shell casings. They also found Angela Jeffress, 56, who died from multiple gunshot wounds.
A city official who knew Jeffers told WRAL News that she was well known and loved by many. He said she was going to retire from GKN Driveline in Timberlake, North Carolina, where she had worked for decades.
According to sources, Jeffres was asleep when the shooting occurred.
Roxbar Police Chief David Hass said: “These senseless acts of violence in our community must stop. The community is tired of seeing families suffer from gun violence. ”
