Ruud Gullit fears that Eric ten Hagu will not be given enough time to fix Manchester United – suggests former reds Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand are already putting pressure on the new head.

Ten Hague will be United’s fifth manager in nine years when he arrives at Old Trafford at the end of the season and will oversee overhauls this summer.

Former United defenders Ferdinand and Neville hold prominent positions at BT Sport and Sky Sports accordingly, the first this week unveiled its “six-point plan” to save the club after five seasons without a trophy.

And the former Dutch national team player Gullit, who succeeded Chelsea and briefly “Newcastle United” in the Premier League, fears that constant attention from United legends will add unnecessary pressure to the Ten Hague.

“I’m watching the media in England, and I’ve already come to the conclusion that Ten Hag won’t get time to change everything,” Gullit told The Rondo Show via Mirror.

Neville and Ferdinand “put pressure,” Gullit says.

“Rio Ferdinand put pressure, Gary Neville did it, all the paperwork will be on it. I lived and worked in England. “

While Gullit believes United have finally taken the right step by appointing a “young modern manager”, he believes they are already too far behind, and says the Ten Hague will fight to bring the club back to its former glory.

“The first club that all the media is looking at and talking about is United,” he said.

United did the wrong thing when, when Man City and Liverpool changed their style of play in a very attacking way, playing 4-3-3, pressing the opponent and using an aggressive style, United went the other way.

“They chose senior managers such as David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

“It didn’t work. Now United has realized that they also need to look for a young modern manager.

– But it’s too late. After all, they are now done with Ten Hag. No matter how much I want him to succeed at United, I’m afraid it will be a very, very difficult project for him. “
