Over the past couple of months, Twitter has introduced many new features, but none of them have attracted as much attention as the coveted tweet editing feature. Shortly after Elon Musk bought 9.2% of the company, Twitter announced that he has been working on the feature since last year. Now the contributor for 9To5Google was able to enable the tweet editing button on the web client.
The ability to edit tweets is one of the most sought after features when it comes to Twitter. Other social networks / video sharing platforms allow you to edit your posts such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, etc. Even business apps like Slack allow you to edit sent messages. Twitter has always been a rebel in this regard.
However, this may end because someone was able to turn on the tweet edit button
It will be some time now before most people start editing their tweets. Twitter has said it will soon be testing the feature with its Twitter Blue users. This means that paid subscribers will first be able to edit their tweets. We’re sure Twitter won’t save it for such paid subscribers TweetDeck.
While the campaign prepares the feature for prime time, the 9To5Google member was able to turn on the tweet editing button. Dylan Russell posted a tweet showing some screenshots of the Twitter web client with that tweet. Tweet titled “Editing Test!” has an open overflow menu (three points). At the bottom of the menu we see the “Edit Tweet” option.
In the following image we see the same tweet in the actual editing process with added text. Sorry, the following image shows an error message. As is often the case with features included before, they just don’t work. Since the feature is still under testing and is not intended for anyone outside the circle, the feature has not yet been added.
Oh! 👀@TwitterThe user edit button may already be enabled. It doesn’t work yet, but I’ll keep an eye on it! pic.twitter.com/7hyCAxsSym

If you want to try this feature, it will still take some time, but you can subscribe Twitter Blue. It’s $ 2.99 a month and you’ll have access to a tweet editing button along with other exclusive services.
